Maintenance of pedestrian crossing in Channel Gate Road: Saturday 17 April 2021
Our contractor, SCSJV, will be carrying out works on the pedestrian crossing on Channel Gate Road to repaint the pedestrian crossing. Works to repaint the crossing are planned to take place on Saturday 17 April between the hours of 8am to 1pm. We anticipate these works will take approximately two hours. Surveys and ground investigation works: 25 April to mid July 2021
From 18 April the Great Western main line will be closed for the de-commissioning of the Heathrow Express depot. These works will include de-wiring and track recovery and will last for several weeks.
While this line is closed, starting from the 25 April, we will use this time to carry out important surveys and ground investigation work adjacent to the railway. This work is important to help us to understand more about the current ground conditions in the local area. The surveys will take place along all rail infrastructure between Mitre Bridge and the North London railway line. You can read more about the work here .
Update: vehicles to start using Grand Union Canal bridge: 26 April 2021 onwards
Since February, we have been preparing the bridge for use by HS2 construction vehicles to help us reduce the use of local roads while moving materials between these sites. We anticipate the bridge to start being used by lorries from late April onwards. For more information please read the notice here .
Ground investigations on Chase Road: 29 April to 1 July 2021
As part of our ongoing works to prepare for construction of the HS2 tunnels and crossover box, SCSJV will be carrying out further ground investigations on Chase Road. This will involve digging temporary trenches to confirm the location of utilities under the road surface. You can read more about it here .
