Update on HS2 construction works at Old Oak Common Station Site

We are breaking out the concrete base and processing the remaining train shed foundation at the station site. Although we are working within our noise and vibration limits we have implemented a number of additional mitigation measures to further reduce the impact of these works on the local community as set out below:

  • Wherever possible we are lifting and breaking the remaining slab, rather than using a hammer tool.
  • Wherever possible, we are loading the broken pieces and transporting them away from the western end of the site for further processing and crushing.
  • We have moved the crusher away from the western end of site.
  • In addition we are temporarily limiting the working hours on this activity to between 9am and 4pm for the remaining duration of this work. These works were expected to be completed within 5 working days.

All other works on site, including breaking out of the internal roads and footpaths, will continue to be carried out within our core working hours of 08.00-18.00.
