Update on the colour of conveyor system; UKPN trial holes from 19 April; concrete pour at the station site on 7 April

Conveyor system colour

During the spring our contractors SCSJV and BBVS will build a conveyor system between our sites in Old Oak and Park Royal to allow for the movement of excavated material between sites. The conveyor system will be light grey in colour which will blend in to the surroundings. For further information about the colour you can read the notice here .

UKPN trial holes

UKPN are undertaking trial holes and other work on underground cables from 19 April 2021 on Network Rail land by the railway east of Victoria Road and south of Wells House Road. The work should be finished at the end of May. For further information you can read the UKPN letter here .

Concrete pour at Old Oak Common station site

Earlier this year, we notified the community of our programme of piling and diaphragm wall activity taking place at the Old Oak Common Station site. You can view that notification here: https://www.hs2.org.uk/work-items/notice-of-piling-and-diaphragm-wall-works/

As part of these works, we agreed extended working hours to allow time for the safe completion of large concrete pours for the ground strengthening activity, and we only work these hours where required, not every day.

We will be completing the first large concrete pour on the site on Wednesday 7 April 2021. We will aim to complete the pour as quickly as possible, however this may continue into the extended hours up until 10pm. We will have more large concrete pours over the coming months. To find out more, please read the update here .
