HS2 Archaeology In Focus: Join a free online event highlighting the history of Old Oak Common

Our archaeology programme is continuing to unearth discoveries across our sites and we would like to invite you to join us and our contractors CSJV for a look at the history of Old Oak Common.

Have you ever wondered how and why the railway developed in the way it did? What was the area like 200 years ago and what was Acton famous for in the 17th Century?

This webinar will be hosted by CSJV’s historic buildings lead and focus on the railway heritage at Old Oak Common. During the free online event, we will:

  • Discuss the historic changes in the area that led to the depot site becoming one of London’s key railway centres
  • Explore the history dating from the medieval period to present day
  • Discuss some of the discoveries made during recent project works
  • You will also be able to ask the team questions via a live Q&A chat option.

    Book your tickets now .

    Date and time: Tuesday 25 May, 11:30am – 12:30pm

Please note registration closes 2 hours before each live event starts.

We will be publishing a video recording of the session online, so if you are not able to listen live you can still learn about each topic through a dedicated playlist on the HS2 YouTube channel.

If you have a question about HS2 or our works, please contact our HS2 Helpdesk team on 08081 434 434 or email hs2enquiries@hs2.org.uk .
