Community engagement

HS2 and its contractors continue to engage with the community and provide information about the construction works. During the current pandemic, we will engage with residents virtually in a number of ways. Please see below to find out what would be appropriate for you.

Virtual one-to-ones

This surgery-style drop-in is an opportunity for you to find out more about HS2, what it means for the local area and have your questions answered.

Each month the virtual one-to-one will have different themed discussions where you can book a 20-minute slot to talk with the team from HS2, SCS, CSjv and BBVS. They are scheduled for the following dates:

  • Wednesday 30 June, 3pm to 6pm
  • Wednesday 28 July, 3pm to 6pm
  • Wednesday 25 August, 3pm to 6pm
  • Wednesday 29 September, 3pm to 6pm
  • Wednesday 27 October, 3pm to 6pm
  • Wednesday 24 November, 3pm to 6pm
  • The next virtual one-to-one will take place on Wednesday 30 June 2021, 3pm to 6pm

    You can book a slot with appropriate contractor team members by using the links below. Please choose which contractor and theme you’re interested in when booking your slot so we have the appropriate team members on hand to talk with you.

    We will be running these events via Microsoft Teams, which is a free to use online platform. If you have the Microsoft Teams app installed on your desktop or mobile device, the session will open automatically within that.

    Further joining instructions will be sent to all registered attendees closer to the time.

    Virtual information event: how we monitor air quality, noise & vibration, Tuesday 11 May, 6.30pm

    This virtual event was held on Tuesday 11 May 2021 and was an opportunity for people to find out more about how HS2 monitors the air quality, noise and vibration from our sites. The slides from that information event can be found here .

    Previous engagement activities

    Conveyors in Old Oak Common information events held in February and March 2021

    We held four events on 23 and 26 February and 1 and 3 March to discuss our plans to construct a conveyor system to remove material and spoil from the station site and tunnelling site. The information we shared can be found here .

    We held an online session on our contractor’s proposed lorry route Schedule 17 application on Tuesday 14 May 2020 . The information we shared at the event can be now be found here , alongside an invite that was issued to the community which can be found here .

    Summary of plans to manage Channel Gate Road

    We held a meeting for residents on 10 February 2020 about our proposed changes to manage Channel Gate Road. This was an opportunity for residents to provide feedback on some parts of the proposed changes.

    Lorry route Schedule 17 information event held on Wednesday 15 January 2020
