HS2 Undertakings and Assurances

HS2 Undertakings and Assurances

Undertakings and assurances are commitments given by the Promoter (Secretary of State) during the passage of the Bill through Parliament.

Thousands of Undertakings and Assurances were made to organisations and individuals along the HS2 route, and a number of these apply to the Old Oak Common area.

You can find a link to the register of the undertakings and assurances here. All agreements included on the register are binding on the Secretary of State, HS2 Ltd and its Contractors.

The purpose of the register is to record all the individual Undertakings and Assurances given in a single document. This is to help ensure that HS2, the Secretary of State for Transport, and other organisations responsible for exercising the powers provided by the HS2 Act comply with them throughout the project’s lifecycle.

Filtering the register

The register of undertaking and assurances is a lengthy document. You can filter the document via the ‘To Whom’ or ‘Geographical location’ columns.

There you will find local authorities, local residents groups and individuals, who were issued with assurances as well as details of those assurances.
